The Barney Principal

Mom must have gotten some extra medicine last night. She's telling me that everyone needs to live by the Barney principal. What is that, you wonder?

"I love you, you love me, we're a happy family. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won't you say you love me too?"

"I think the world would be a much happier place if everyone lived by this principal," Mom says. Although I don't disagree (double negatives rule!) the world would be a happier place, Barney is creapy. The world might be happier but there would certainly be some creepy folk out there!

Mom wonders if her dear friends are wanting to outdo the chef at Willowbrook with their cooking. She is routinely floored by the outstanding menus!

When Claire left this morning she called out, "Emeril, are you out there?" to Dad who was in the kitchen preparing Mom's meal. Dad has mastered the poached egg and creamy oatmeal breakfast.

A squirrel just walked past Mom's sliding glass door with a mouth full of nuts. He stopped for a moment, sat on his hind legs as if to say hello, then waddled off.

It's afternoon and Mom's resting. She's had a busy day so far but wants to play Uno and Scrabble when she wakes.
