In case you were wondering

I had no idea what the difference was between occupational and physical therapy. So I asked. "Occupational is upper body and phyical therapy is lower body," Mom explains. "There may be more to it than that, but that seems to be the main difference."

Valerie, Mom's occupational therapist is a Cleveland native. Her husband is a big Browns fan. Riverside Radiology Gail would love that! Mom enjoyed doing the exercises with Valerie mostly because Mom could do everything from her adjustable bed. Apparently mom had great range of motion from her left arm, "all the way to ninety degrees!" Mom says with glee. It's the farthest she's raised her arm in months.

Dad just brought a cold glass of V8 juice to mom, "I can't find the pineapple juice, but try this." Mom tries it and immediately nods "this is your V8 juice. Yuck. I don't want this." Dad shakes it off and drinks it as he leaves the room to look for another juice mom might like.

Mom thinks she overdid it on Thursday. I ask how. "I saw my nurse and gave blood. I was evaluated by my physical therapist so I showed off. It was my first visit. I cleaned up, put on makeup, rode in a shuttle bus, got an infusion, saw my oncologist and did it all without a nap."

The infusion is a new drug recommeded by Dr. Grainger for mom's bones. "My bone food," mom says. "It'll help my bones be strong so I can do my quilting again." We'd all love to see that, I tell her. She'll only have to get the infusion once per month.
