Somebody stole my gummy bears. I think it is the ugly dude sitting next to me in the freshly starched yellow shirt. He's been here a while. He's annoying and he's ugly, as you'll see from the picture below.
Enough about my gummy bears.
Mom had a tough morning, but seems to be doing much better. She slept very, very well on her new air-inflated bed. When she went to the bathroom she had an extremely difficult time catching her breath. She was panicked and frightened. Doctors explained it was the fluid re-settling after a quick movement.
Much has taken place today. It was decided that the doctors will likely not drain the right lung, concerned about collapse. Nutrition was also a hot topic. Mom will be adding chicken, fish, olive oil and some butter to her diet when she gets home.
The challenge of the system
Nurses won't administer pain medicine unless it is asked for. Mom won't ask for it unless she needs it. When she needs it, it's too late and she usually has episodes (escalated BP, breathing, panic). So, we kindly remind mom and nurses to keep the pain medicine coming regularly.
Ugly yellow shirt guy just asked for some pain medicine. "No pain medicine for you, buster!" the nurse jokingly responds.
