"You're on my shit list," Mom said a few weeks ago. Uh oh, I thought. "You haven't hung my quilt yet," she added with a grimace and a shrug. She's talking about the African Madonna (seen above).
Thing is, I'm not sure where it'll hang. Mom wanted it in the foyer. I want it in the den where I can see it as I work.
"It's going in the foyer Mom!" I speak loudly so she can hear. Georgia, Dad and I look at each other. I wink. I'm sticking to my plan to place it in the den with spotlights on it. "Don't worry, it'll be visible," I say to Dad and Georgia. Mom would be happy that it's hung in a place that'll make me happy. It's awesome. It'll look fantastic wherever it is hung.
