Mom is at a point in her journey where visitor's are welcome anytime. She's no longer eating or drinking and may pass soon. If you would like to tell Mom you love her and hold her hand, come anytime.
Father Charlie stopped in last night. It was late, around midnight. He knocked on the door but I didn't let him in. I couldn't tell who it was -- I didn't have my glasses on. When I saw it was him, I felt terrible. "Was that you at the door?" I asked. He nodded. "I'm sorry I didn't let you in, I didn't realize it was you!" Oops.
We prayed with Mom. Father Charlie anointed her with oil. We held her hand. It was sad. I prayed that the Lord will accept Mom soon. I had told Mom earlier that it was ok to go but I needed her to do me a favor. "Scout out the best ski-slopes in heaven, Mom. I'd like to do some skiing when I get there. We can do it together. Don't worry about skill -- it doesn't translate in heaven. We can do whatever we want." She smiled.
Dad's singing Willie Nelson's You Are On My Mind while I type. Andrea is here. She's holding Mom's hand and talking with Mom. We've just adjusted her position so she remains comfortable. Marshmallow Mayonnaise is resting softly under Mom's left cheek. She needs a bath.

Oh dear...I'm working this weekend and have a sick kid at home. I'm not sure I can make it for a final goodbye. Could you please tell her that I said Hi and I love her and give her a big squeeze for me?(she always greeted me w/ "I love you Dru" each time I entered her room at Riverside). My thoughts are with all of you and I think your whole family is just fabulous. Hugs, Dru Carvi
Please take comfort in knowing that Mary Ann is resting in the palm of God's hand. She is surrounded with love. There is no greater blessing than that fact. May God comfort each and everyone of you at this time.
