A note from my Aunt Karen

"We can't tell you enough how important and vital your communication is to our family up here in the frozen tundra.

I'm going to be 64 years old tomorrow and I plan to go with Shelby to Door County for the day. I am constantly thinking of your mom and even though I know she hates to shop, she would be more than happy to join Shelby and me tomorrow if that ridiculous big C would drop off the face of this earth.

We adore that mother of yours. Just remind her of this and know that we wish we could do more to eradicate this intolerable disease from her wonderful body and it will never obliterate her spirit!!!!!!!!

Tell her we love her and that you know we're thinking of her every step of the way and plan to come visit probably the end of July when Bob is there on business. So possibly she would see us and Bob for a time."

Is that a great email or what? Aunt Karen, you've scored some serious love points with that email! Remembering all those great times we all shared together, it makes me remember a time when your son broke his finger running from the law. I don't remember what we were doing exactly, but I do remember a log and some really dark woods. There may have been beer involved, but I don't think it was ours. We were absolutely spying on Beth and that rowdy group of friends she had. Yes, we were that loving force watching out for big sis. At least that's how I remember it.

Thanks for the note. I'll pass it on to Mom!
