Lungs drained

Jen and I just got back from lunch. Mom was with Belinda, her psychologist or mental health communications specialist or jeez, I don't know. Anyway, she had the chance to meet with Belinda to talk about her 'adventure.' We arrived and were told that Mom had her left lung drained. 2 liters of fluid. They'll be back tomorrow to do the other one, if necessary. Mom said "They told me I'd cough a lot and probably not like the doctor very much afterwards, but in the long run, I'd be better off." She seems to be.

"I've still not eaten my lunch," she says. Rick, a new pulmonary specialist, has been in the room helping Mom with a breathing treatment.

The Chaplain is back. He's brought a DVD he wants Mom to watch.

Just watched the DVD. Not sure Mom is going to watch it. Not in that place yet.

Mom's friends from small church group just left. It was a very nice visit. Mom's son-in-law Eric is here. He's getting ready to head out to Jamaica in the morning. I think he should stay so I can go.

James just walked in to draw blood. First thing mom did was to ask him his name and shake his hand. She asks lots of questions.
