First radiology treatment

I'm sitting with Mom waiting for her first radiology treatment. She's talked non-stop since I got here twenty minutes ago. I've learned social services stopped by and discussed transition care and pot-hospital options. Mom didn't want to discuss it.

She's encouraged by the report from pulmanology that the fluid in the lung is the thin kind, not the thick kind -- which is usually malignant. So, we're hoping the lung fluid is benign! The official report isn't back yet but the initial news is terrific.

The radiologist says lung damage is a possibility from radiation, but very small. "I just got this left lung drained and I don't want to mess that up!" Mom says.

Mom's taken in to radiology. I have a nice conversation with Mom's friend, Brenda during the treatment. Mom comes out chipper and ready for the next step in her 'adventure'. She and Brenda have a nice prayer/cleansing while I stand in the hall waiting for a chance to see her. When I do, I tell her I love her and that I'll see her in a couple hours.
