Mom's about to get a chest x-ray. Her breathing has become more difficult. She's wheezing and in pain. Her nurse said she waited 8-hours between her pain medicine. We've talked with her about the importance of maintaining a regular schedule and not trying to be too courageous and refuse the medicine. She's so brave and proud of when she feels well but her pain can come on quickly. We talked to the nurse about setting a more regular schedule.
Mom's oxygen is set to 4 out of a maximum of 5. Her oxygen reading is 94. Andrea gives a long sigh when she hears the number. I have no idea what it means so I ask. I sigh.
Mom needs a great night sleep. She still has Marshmallow -- the little white swan Webkin that Sydney gave her -- by her side. "It's the perfect size and shape for me to hold to keep the swelling down," she says. She loves the swan. The radiology department asks if she's brought it each day. "Of course!" Mom says.
Let's hope for a great night sleep tonight so she'll feel hungry and strong tomorrow.
