Sheila, our Hospice nurse, just called. Mom's BP and respiration is steady again. She had some mottling of the fingertips yesterday, but Sheila says that will come and go. She said Mom is a prize fighter and her heart is behaving as such. The swelling in her belly is down today. With the decrease in food and water the body will draw the fluid out from where it can. I am sure Mom loves that the swelling is down. We don't tell her why though.
The nursing staff is saying she is so agitated and scared at night. Sheila is wanting us to provide her the comfort of overnight guests. Dad is getting a cot in her room for tonite so I can stay with her. I told Mom I was coming for a sleep over! I will do her toenails for her. I am sick of the pink she has on. Maybe we will go for a good "slutty" red tonight.
It looks as though Dad will have his last Valentines Day with Mom. He so wants that. I wish I was going to be in town to provide them with something sappy and romantic.... But we have to leave for Indy on Saturday for a gym meet. Maybe I can convince Rick and Julie to get them a nice meal and flowers and chocolates for Mom (hint hint hint siblings!!!). Mom LOVES chocolate right now!!!!
Jane is coming by this afternoon to deliver liverwurst (gross) from Cleveland that Mom requested. I think when I am at Mom's state I will be requesting Grey Goose and lots of it. NOT liverwurst. But alas, Mom is a weirdo ;)
Mom likes mail. Send her cards. And pictures. Have your kids draw something pretty for her. She likes to hang their artwork.

Is there a mailing address for her at Willowbrook? Or do we just send them to the house and Uncle Jim can take them in?
