Mom and Amber

My photojournalism professors would kill me if I get this wrong -- but see, I don't carry a ledger for cutlines when visiting mom (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it) -- this is a photo of Mom and Amber before Mom moved to the Delaware home. You can see one of her awesome quilts in the background. And a lamp. And Amber is holding a 1/4 full tank of oxygen. Mom's the one in the pretty purple sweater and matching scarf using the ultra-cool looking walker with hand brakes.

Meet the cast

MARYANN

is a cool lady. She's an award winning fiber artist, a terrific, loving grandma, a great wife and one tenacious card player! She loves to cook, walk in the park, work in the garden and listen to her husband as he tries to do his morning crossword puzzle. Get well Mom!

DAD:

Mom's husband. Good dude. Likes crossword puzzles and Taco Bell (though he's not liking it as often which is good!) Loves to sing and used to be in Opera Columbus back in the day. Recently bought new set of Tommy Armour irons and looks forward to using them.

JULIE:

Mom's oldest daughter. Mother of Aaron and Emily and wife of Eric. She's a Leo and loves to cook for Mom and sit and talk. She has boring purses, according to Jen.

RICK:

He's Mom's son and the author of this blog. He feels a little weird right now typing in the third person, but he's gotten used to feeling weird. He's the middle child and Mom's favorite (hee, hee). Married to Andrea and dad to Emma and Sydney.

JEN:

Jen's the youngest of the three children. She's married to Alan and has Noah, Haven and Romi. They have a dog named Hopi, who happens to be mom and dad's dog's sister. The dogs don't get together often but when they do, they play well. Jen is a doer and has the most style of the three kids.

DR. GRAINGER:

Mom's oncologist. She really digs Dr. Grainger and think's he's the best darn oncologist in the land. She appreciates his calm demeanor and caring spirit.

DR. SEAVOLT:

Mom's radiologist and a polar opposite of Dr. Grainger -- except that he's not mean, still cares and is equally important to Mom. He's in a band and moves quickly with passion.

Carolyn: Mom's good personal friend and homeopathic physician. She knows her stuff and helps mom with understanding the many facets of her 'adventure'.
