New visitors welcome

Turns out Mom likes visitors. I know, who'd have thunk it? She loves all the people she knows but, "I also love the one's I don't," she says over the phone.

I immediately think of fat stinky old men with hairy bellies and old shirts that don't cover their skin completely. He growls when he walks, dragging his feet and mumble to himself in half-conversation. He's got an old hat covering his greasy hair.

"Even that guy?" I ask Mom. "Well, maybe not that guy," she admits. I feel better.

Well, if you aren't that guy, Mom says "stop in and introduce yourself to me! I love meeting new people. If you don't know where I am, call Rick or Jen or the person who does know me and they'll tell you where to go."

I'm sure Dad will be thrilled with this latest invitation to the masses. Actually, he's said he doesn't mind. That may be, but we'll work out a system so Dad isn't just a butler in his own house -- opening doors, cooking, cleaning, walking the dog and entertaining visitors. His plate is already full passing medicine, learning about oxygen tanks and managing his wife's meal schedule. (does anyone know if oxycotten is available in a 12-hour slow release pill?)

If you are a reader of this blog, have never met Mom (or just know of her through a friend or co-worker) and would like to pay her a visit, please do. She's a cool lady with comfortable chairs and she promises she won't bite. (at least as long as you don't eat her peach cobbler or whatever her favorite dessert is of the day).

Thanks!
