Jacquie, Mom's aide came today. She started a welcome brigade of visitors who wore Mom out through great conversation. Marge brought lunch from Panera, a favorite of Mom and Dads. Michelle, a former principal (another favorite of Mom's) stopped and visited. (It just ocurred to me I better not forget anyone or they might get upset. Don't want that!)
Mom's talking about circles becoming the underlying pattern to her spring art show. She and Dad are watching Ken Burn's national park series on PBS. "It's a wonderful series and it looks so very good on my new TV!" Mom says. Her new quilting art will have something to do with cycles. It's great to hear her talking about her spring art show.
"Yesterday Nikki came from RCIA and brought me a smoothie on her lunch hour!" Mom loved it. She talks about how Marge observed that Mom has really learned how to receive. She's really on a roll now. Talking about cancer cells in petrie dishes, noetic sciences and a book by Dan Brown that Jen's reading.
Mom and Dad played Scrabble last night until midnight. Mom won by the word 'quilt' of all words. "Triple word score on the Q!" Mom boasts. I can hear Dad in the background complaining about Mom's taking advantage of his being tired. They're very competitive.
Mom got her flu shot and feels "invincible." They will be getting a new sliding door outside of Mom's room with special noise reducing glass.
Mom's special friend Pam is coming to visit tomorrow. She's excited to see her, "just like when I saw Jane. It's like we picked up right where we left off." She also saw her friend Sharon. They talked for a while about life, family, etc.
Mom likes it when visitors stay and play a game of their choice. Some stay, some don't. "It's ok, I understand people have busy lives and can't always stay."

Yeah! Pam is coming! I am so glad.
Hi MaryAnn,
It's Debbie, Bruce's girlfriend. When I lived in California, before I moved to Tennessee, the place I worked was next to a shopping center where they had a store that made smoothies. I'd buy one of those for lunch, and walk around the entire shop center during lunchtime every day. I couldn't figure out why I gained weight, until I learned that eating liquid fruit is like eating sugar and it'll put weight on you! They are delicious, too! Cheers!
You're in our thoughts and prayers, Debbie and Bruce
