A hole in the nose

Mom has an appointment with the radiation oncologist this afternoon. It's a follow up visit to check on Mom's progress from the radiation treatments.

She slept very well last night, but she has a new development that is more annoying than anything else. She has a perforated septum at the base of her nose. "It's just something that I can't let bother me, but boy is it annoying," she says. Apparently many people live with the same annoying issue. I asked if it makes breathing difficult and she says "no, not really. At least, I don't think so."

The oxygen setting has been moved down a notch. Mom's trying to build her lung capacity and rely less on the help from the oxygen. We're supportive of course, but don't want her to overdue it, so we'll keep a close eye on her breathing as she goes through her days.

No PT or OT today. All three (nurse was the third) arrived at the same time yesterday, an overload for Mom. "They're coordinating schedules so that doesn't happen again. It was a little overwhelming," Mom admits.

Am I supposed to capitalize Mom every time? I better look that up in the ol' AP stylebook.
