Day was good. Dad came in early, woke mom and said "Here, here's your breakfast." It was dad's second attempt. Poached eggs were the attempt, but the double boiler never received any water. (Is it called a double boiler? Mom's talking so fast, I don't know if I can stop her to ask the question). More about oatmeal being burnt, Dad being frustrated..... I can't keep up. Mom got food, so that's all that matters. (UPDATE - That didn't sound right. Dad matters too, I just didn't have enough speed to type fast enough to mention it. Dad tried to make Mom a great breakfast but forgot to add the water, that's all).
Mom's new nurse came shortly after breakfast. Took blood pressure, other vitals. They'll be back next Monday to draw blood to check cumadin levels.
Marge came. Made soup that would make Whole Foods weep, according to mom. Man she talks fast. Grilled cheese sandwich with the soup. Mom went on and on about the wonderful food. Before Marge left, Joyce came and brought communion. She also brought ribs and rice which was fabulous! Amy and John came with pot-roast and salad......
I can't keep up.
More food? Jen and Haven came and ate. Dad ate. Julie and Emilie came by.
In all, a lot of people. A lot of food. 5 cumadin pills, since her levels are good. 1 MG pills, so combinations are easy. Mom read more of her books and had great conversations about the power of forgiveness and love. Nice conversation with Carolyn in the evening.
What a full day! It's 9:18pm and Mom says she's tired. "No kidding!" I say. "All that food, we'd be tired too!"
