I just got off the phone with Mom. It's been a busy morning. Here's a quick recap...
• There was a meeting today at the nursing home with a member of HomeReach. Mom and Dad were able to ask many questions about the specifics of Mom's care when she returns home next week. Mom will be getting an adjustable hospital bed but we'll be adding an extra fancy pillow top or latex top for maximum comfort.
• She slept very well last night. Swelling in her arm is down and she's not coughing as much as the day before. She still has a slight rash on her skin, but isn't too worried about it.
• Meatloaf for lunch, which is good. Mom's looking forward to the meal. Dad never misses a meal report. We can tell he loves his food!
• Dad's repainting Mom's new room -- well, he's having it painted. I'll be going over this evening to determine the best shade of ____________ (don't want to ruin the poll!), which is the color mom wants. We'll also be checking into TV placement for best viewing angles. I'll be sure to check out that new HDTV!
• Occupational therapy at 1:00pm. Mom says she can tell that the therapy is designed for patients that may not have their full cerebral faculties. "The exercises aren't very challenging," she says. But she also says she really enjoys the sessions and appreciates the nurses that help her. "They are awesome," she adds.
• Mom likes what she sees from the new look Cleveland Indians. She hated to see Victor go, but is OK with all the "young stud pitching" we got in return. She called me last night to tell me not to watch the game, "They're not doing too well this evening," she said. The Indians would up losing like 10-1, I think.
