Day was good. Mom ate more today than she probably has eaten since last August. 2 brownies. Homeade chicken soup that Clair brought. A great salad with fresh greens. Panera bread with real butter. Connie brought some pasta with meat sauce for dinner. Fresh french bread. The day started with Bob Evans scrambled eggs, sausage + biscuits.
Wow. I'm hungry!
But Mom's not. Now she's tired. She'll telling me about generic drugs and how some of them don't seem to work. She's having issues with her allergy medicine -- likely because it's generic.
Mom has some posts she wants me to write. One is about "Lessons from the birch tree" and the other was "just about love..." Mom says. She's too tired to tell me about them this evening so we're going to get these blog entries up later tomorrow. The kids have given me the soar throat and head cold ick so I can't go visit Mom tonight. No sweat, that's why they made the telephone!
Mom's legs ache. She thinks its from getting in and out of the bed so much. Swelling in the arm is normal and not excessive -- that's great news. She has a bit of a cough and sounds very tired on the phone. She's watching the Indians again and is really liking the new young players. I wish I could take her down to Huntington Park, the new Clippers stadium.
Haven spent several hours with Mom today. They played euchre and watched Mama Mia together. "It was great fun," Mom said. Noah spent time with Mom yesterday, soundly defeating her in Connect-4 over and over again. They played over 30 games, with Noah winning 25. If you ever get the chance to play him in the game, don't. Unless of course you are a very skilled player -- then knock him down a peg!
We're going to take Mom some mexican dominoes -- whatever those are. "They sell them at Target," Andi says. She played while she was in Arizona and said it was tons of fun. Not sure about that, but Mom needs some new games to keep things fun and exciting. Scrabble is surely in the cards!
