Physically, Mom feels pretty good; but she wants "a new body". If anyone sees one on sale at KOHLS, pick one up!
Spiritually and emotionally she's 'rockin'. Edema in the arm and lungs is the biggest hurdle. Oxygen level is good and BP is decent. Coughing comes and goes. Breathing seems ok. Weight is down a bit, 6 pounds from the hospital. Appetite is strong but she isn't a fan of the overcooked hamburger from the nursing home. Panera is her favorite restaurant -- tuna salad sandwich on whole grain her favorite food.
Dad's still running back and forth picking up various things for mom. She's doing basic fabric art as part of her physical and occupational therapy. She's agreed to make a quilt for the bulletin board. We'll take a picture of it when it is done and post it here. "They want it to be uplifiting," Mom says. "So I've got people jumping around."
Green Bay relatives, Aunt Karen and Uncle Jerry and cousin Bob are coming to town this week. Mom's excited to see them and spend some time talking. "I'm sure we'll get in a card game or two," she says with a smile.
