If you are reading this, it is because you care about MaryAnn Titus. Thank you. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes during this challenging phase of her life. As you know, Mom has been fighting advanced breast cancer for the last 8 months.
She's been wonderfully spirited in her fight. On sunny days she likes to walk, sit on the patio and read, or listen to her music to the sound of the fountain on the lake. About a month ago we met at Mom's for a day of fishing. She loves to fish and helped her grandaughter's Emma and Sydney to drill their dad, me, Rick, in a fishing tournament. "Sydney's got another one Jim!" Mom said time after time. Mom even caught a few fish of her own that day.
Mom's full of spirit and positive energy. If you talked to her on the phone or saw her at church at St. Paul's, you'd never know her body was fighting illness. She loves to laugh and to talk about simple pleasures.
She also loves a good game of cards. Penuchle is a favorite card game at the Titus household. I've been nicknamed the 'Rookie' by Dad -- even though I've spanked him a number of times. Mom always seems to outbid everyone and find a way to make the bid. Jen and Mom are a brutal combination. Dad and I have our hands full trying to defeat them.
I created this blog so those who know and love MaryAnn Titus / Mom like we do can stay informed and have a central location to offer prayer or well wishes. I'll do the best I can to provide updates on Mom's condition on a daily basis, without getting to detailed or personal. The last thing I want is Mom waiving her finger at me! Yowzer!
