• Michelle Brannock, thank you for the wonderful custom made jammies you made for Mom.
• Off Our Blocks (no, not a new boy band, Mom's quilt group) thank you for the totally awesome Valentines day basket with all the goodies. We opened the LED candles, placed them around the room and turned off the lights so Mom and Dad could sit warmly in the candle-light (faux of course!) Mom dove into the dark chocolate and Dad had some too. It was a very nice twenty minutes.
• Thank you Kendra for visiting and staying with Mom this afternoon. Mom always enjoys your visits. Your kind words were very soothing and your company very welcome.
• Thank you to Joseph and Illumineir (please forgive the spelling if wrong) for the roses. Mom's dresser is full of all sorts of wonderful gifts. Flowers, pictures, gifts and now fake candles. It's pretty killer if you ask me. We'll get a photo up of it tomorrow.
• Thanks to Leah and Truman for the time spent and the pictures given.
• Mom still has her Christmas photos taped to the top drawer of her dresser. "I don't want to take down all those faces," she said earlier today. "I don't remember all of them, but they keep my company and I love seeing them all."
"Just as long as you remember my picture, Mom!" I joke. There aren't any photos of me on the dresser. Josh Cribbs is there, though. I'll have to sneak a 8x10 of myself up there and see if she notices.
• Thank you Jane for spending the night, being a super cool lady and for not catching Mom and Dad's house on fire when you smudged the bedroom before Brenda's visit. As cool ladies go, you top the chart (I still can't believe you gave me a C-- in Jamaican Food Construction class, but who's keeping track? And what do you know about Jamaican food anyway? Jeez, just sayin')
• Thank you to the wonderful nurses who keep Mom's spirits high, bed tidy and room warm. Though I must say the 80 degree hallways are a touch on the toasty side (Not like Jamaica, I'm sure though).
• Thank you Apple computer for making a slim keyboard so I can type on this portable tray table thing-a-ma-job. Mom's iMac sits very nicely here and it makes keeping in touch with her peeps all the easier. I forget their chief industrial designer's name but he is damn good at his job.
Why all the Thank You's? Because ya'll deserve it. People say all the time, "MaryAnn, you are at the center of love and we're all benefiting." It's true. Her peeps are cool.
